History:
Alfred's Homestead was built in 1970 and opened as a Restaurant on 6th
June 1970.
The Restaurant was European in Style with Brick Arches and Feature
Walls.
In 1981 the new Owner gave the Restaurant an Australiana Outlook by
adding Carts
and other farming equipment as well as displaying farming inplements
inside the
Restaurant.
The new owners in July 1987 have made many changes which has enabled
the Restaurant
to cater for larger parties and also satisfy the needs of a Bride
& Groom ie Bridal
Change Room , Gazebo and Wedding Garden Area..
Carpets,Drapes,Oil Paintings,Chaderliers and Light Fittings,Slate
Tiles,Refrigerated Buffet
Table,Walk in Freezer are some of the changes made; the Verandahs were
extended and
enclosed to create two more private dining areas as well as a
pre-dinner drinks area
for the private wedding.
Special
Feature:
The wine cellar has been extended from 2
dozen bottles to up to 300 different bottles
of wine- at present there are quite a number of good vintages that
surprise the wine
lover for their price as well as their mature taste.
Family Restaurant:
Alfreds Homestead caters for the whole
family and is especially suitable for the
family celebration.
Saturday Night with the Band and Sunday Lunch with background
music are the main days the restaurant is open all year.
The Style of Cuisine and the extensive Table Service for Drinks make it
imperative
for BOOKINGS .
Since most family celebrations are on Saturday Night and Sunday Lunch
the Restaurant
is generally quiet on other nights and lunches except at Christmas Time
when parties
are paramount lunch and at night any day of the week.
We now have extra special prices for children on Tuesday Family
Tea Night .
Children pay Half
price if they are 8
to 15 years of age.
Recent Rennovations:
Changes in the front include doubling the size of the foyer and tiled steps and entry.
Inside the stage has been relocated and we have removed the 70 foot long wall exposing
the main part of the restaurant to full window view of the 5 acres in front.
The raised section
has been lowered and new chairs and round tables have arrived.
The changes have surprised and pleased
everyone who loves Alfreds Homestead.
We now have a larger private area
behind the new stage.
White Linen Serviettes do add a special touch to dining.
