Dine and Dance with Live Entertainment.
It is hard to believe that the old-fashioned Dinner Dance is dead.
I recall years ago that it was so much more fun going to dinner with dancing than just dinner alone.
Perhaps the reason for the change is simply that young people do not dance as couples arm in arm so to speak.
I recall quite vividly a fantastic Restaurant in St Kilda that had a Band playing slow romantic music all night long.
In fact it was not even licensed.
It was very enjoyable chatting whilst dancing – all the while embracing.
Yes. I have great memories of the romantic side of a dinner dance.
I also recall the Dinner Dance enabled all members of the family to enjoy music and time together.
Dancing with mum or dad and generally living it up over a good 5 hours is what Alfred’s Homestead is able to provide.
Today it seems that special occasions are curtailed by too much drinking or skipping from one venue to another or not cool to have the whole family at a particular venue or interrupted by the presence of Pokies.
I feel that perhaps the Dinner Dance should be brought back to life and celebrations should be like they were in the old days – that is, they should include the whole family and for a good five hours.
If you have not been to a Restaurant with live entertainment geared to make you Dance then here is your chance.
Alfred’s Homestead has live entertainment every Saturday Night for the whole year and close to Christmas most Friday Nights as well.
Don’t just go out to dinner for a couple of hours – a memorable occasion needs a good 5 hours and that is the beauty offered by a dinner dance.
If you arrive at 7pm and begin eating at 7:30pm you will enjoy live entertainment over dinner and then you have a good 3 to 3.5 hours of dancing and chatting before you head off home after midnight. A good 5 hours of fun with friends and family will provide you with great memories.
The Dinner Dance is not dead – not for me.
